Air Freight: Time-Critical Shipments Worldwide in 24–72 Hours
Air freight is the fastest mode of transport for intercontinental shipments: as express air freight, your goods reach almost any destination worldwide in 24 to 72 hours; consolidated shipments take three to seven days. Logisticoo organises the pre-carriage to the airport, the Air Waybill (AWB), customs clearance and delivery in the destination country — you receive your quote within 30 minutes.
When a spare part brings a production line to a standstill, a sample has to reach a customer overseas, or seasonal goods must not miss their sales window, there is no alternative to air freight: no other mode of transport bridges intercontinental distances in 24 to 72 hours. Logisticoo organises your air freight as a seamless door-to-door solution — from pre-carriage at your loading dock, through loading at German freight hubs such as Frankfurt, to customs-cleared delivery in the destination country.
Depending on urgency and budget, you choose between express air freight on the next available flight and consolidated air freight: here we bundle your shipment with others into a consolidated load on the same route — significantly lowering the price per kilogram, with typical transit times of three to seven days. Billing is based on the chargeable weight: the higher of actual weight and volumetric weight (calculated at 167 kg per cubic metre). We therefore price light, bulky goods precisely in advance, so there are no surprises.
Every shipment travels under an Air Waybill (AWB) — the air consignment note that serves as both the contract of carriage and the tracking number, allowing you to follow the shipment seamlessly from departure to arrival. We handle all formalities in full: export declaration, the shipment's security status, dangerous goods declaration in accordance with IATA DGR where required, and import clearance in the destination country via our partner network in 55 countries.
What sets Logisticoo apart is how it is handled: you send us the dimensions, weight and destination — within 30 minutes you have a concrete quote including transit time. A personal dispatcher accompanies the shipment through every stage, actively reports departure and arrival, and coordinates delivery with the recipient, so the time gained is not lost again at the destination airport.

How it works
01 · Enquiry, routing and quote
You state the dimensions, weight, type of goods and destination. We check flight connections, calculate the chargeable weight and send you a quote with a concrete transit time within 30 minutes — as express or consolidated air freight.
02 · Pre-carriage, AWB and export
We collect the shipment from you, issue the Air Waybill, take care of the export declaration and air-security status, and deliver to the freight hub on schedule — including an IATA-compliant dangerous goods declaration where needed.
03 · Flight, import customs and delivery
After arrival, our partner in the destination country handles import clearance and the onward carriage to the recipient's door. You receive status updates on departure, arrival and delivery, plus all documents digitally.
Pricing & rules of thumb
Air freight is priced by chargeable weight, not per kilometre: the higher of actual and volumetric weight applies (167 kg/m³), plus handling, security and customs. You receive the quote by volume, weight and route in 30 minutes.
- Basis: chargeable weight — the higher of actual and volumetric weight (167 kg/m³)
- No €/km rate; the rate per kilo varies by route and capacity situation
- Plus handling, security and fuel surcharges as well as customs clearance
- Road pre-carriage to the air hub is priced per km (Sprinter from ~€1.10/km) — itemised in the total

Frequently asked questions
How is the price of an air freight shipment calculated?
Billing is based on the chargeable weight: the higher of actual weight and volumetric weight (length × width × height in metres × 167 kg). On top of that come handling, security and fuel surcharges as well as customs clearance. We do not quote flat per-kilo rates, because they fluctuate by route and capacity situation — you receive your specific quote within 30 minutes.
What is an Air Waybill (AWB)?
The Air Waybill is the air consignment note: it documents the contract of carriage between shipper and airline, serves as an accompanying document for the goods and contains the eleven-digit tracking number. For consolidated shipments, your goods travel under a Logisticoo House AWB assigned to the airline's Master AWB. We prepare all documents for you.
How fast is air freight really — door to door?
The pure flight time is short; what counts are pre-carriage, handling and customs. As an express shipment, European destinations usually reach the recipient within 24 hours, North America and Asia in 48 to 72 hours. Consolidated air freight takes three to seven days. Complete customs documents are a prerequisite — and we support you with them from the outset.
Can I ship dangerous goods or batteries by air freight?
Yes, many dangerous goods — including lithium batteries — are permitted in air freight, though strictly in accordance with the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR): correct classification, UN packaging, marking and declaration are mandatory, and certain substances are excluded from air transport. Give us the UN number and quantity, and we will check admissibility and routing before quoting.
