Transport for Agriculture & Farm Machinery
Logisticoo hauls everything that farms, dealers and cooperatives need to move for agriculture and farm machinery: agricultural machines and attachments, spare parts during harvest, palletised seed, fertiliser in sacks and big bags, and animal feed in packaged units. The agricultural calendar shows no leniency - if the combine harvester stands idle during harvest because of a faulty part, delivery time decides the yield. For such cases we run spare-parts express as a direct delivery, at weekends too, with a fixed-price commitment within 30 minutes. Tractors, trailers and attachments we ferry on low-loaders and flatbed vehicles between dealer, farm and auction - including ramp loading when the machine drives itself. Farms rarely sit right by the motorway: our dispatch team clarifies access, the farm entrance and unloading assistance beforehand, not by phone during delivery. Seasonal goods such as seed and fertiliser we deliver predictably to the agricultural trade and cooperatives before the campaign begins, weatherproof under a tarpaulin and, where needed, unloaded with a truck-mounted forklift. Cross-border machinery ferrying we cover in 55 countries. This keeps your campaign on schedule - even when, for once, the machinery is not.
Vehicles & equipment
Depending on the goods, we deploy low-loaders with ramps for self-driving machines, curtain-side semitrailers for palletised agricultural goods and vehicles with a truck-mounted forklift for farms without a forklift; big bags are secured with suitable slings and form-fit stowage.

Typical consignments in agriculture
For farms, the agricultural trade and cooperatives we haul four groups of goods. First, agricultural machines and attachments: tractors, trailers, ploughs, sowing and harvesting equipment, ferried between dealer, farm and auction. Second, spare parts during the campaign - from combine-harvester components to hydraulic pumps, often as an urgent express, because idle time during harvest costs yield. Third, seasonal inputs: palletised seed, fertiliser in sacks and big bags, crop protection and animal feed in packaged units, planned ahead of the campaign start. Fourth, special goods such as silo film, fencing material or bales. The range spans from the self-driving oversize machine on the low-loader to the single pallet of seed in groupage - each with its own requirements for vehicle and unloading assistance at the farm.
Standards and rules in agricultural traffic
Machinery ferrying is subject to road traffic law: if a tractor with an attachment exceeds the limits of 2.55 m width, 4.00 m height or the permissible weight, a special permit under Section 29 of the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) is required for the specific route - we apply for it and factor in conditions such as night or escorted travel. Load securing of self-driving equipment follows VDI 2700, with lashing chains over the manufacturer's lashing points. Some fertilisers are subject to labelling requirements: ammonium-nitrate-based goods may fall under the ADR rules (including Class 5.1), which we check before dispatch. Seed and feed travel dry and cleanly separated from chemicals. We secure big bags in a form-fit manner against swaying - loose bulk in a tipper is not part of our standard programme.
How an agricultural transport works at Logisticoo
- Enquiry with the goods, quantity or machine type including dimensions and weight, and the farm or site address.
- Fixed-price quote in 30 minutes, including permit lead time for oversize loads.
- Access clarification: is the farm entrance passable for an articulated truck, is farm equipment on hand for unloading, or do we need a truck-mounted forklift?
- Loading - self-driving units up the ramp, palletised goods and big bags stowed in a form-fit manner.
- Transport to the agreed appointment; during the campaign, urgent parts run at night and at weekends too, and on long routes with two drivers.
- Unloading at the farm with on-board equipment, handover to the farm manager. For campaign supply to cooperatives we set up fixed terms and a recurring process.
What does an agricultural transport cost?
We name the price in advance as a fixed price; the rule-of-thumb figures per kilometre (+/-15%): an express Sprinter for spare parts around 1.10 EUR/km (from 89 EUR), a 7.5 t truck around 1.45 EUR/km (from 169 EUR), a 12 t truck around 1.65 EUR/km (from 219 EUR), an articulated truck for seed or fertiliser around 1.95 EUR/km (from 379 EUR); low-loaders for machines we calculate on a project basis plus any permit costs. A spare-parts direct delivery Bremen-Rostock (around 260 km) by Sprinter thus comes to roughly 290-330 EUR, and a full load of seed Magdeburg-Munich (around 500 km) by articulated truck to roughly 830-1,120 EUR. Surcharges arise for weekend and night runs during the campaign, a two-driver crew and oversize permits for machinery ferrying.
Typical agricultural consignments and the right handling

Frequently asked questions
The combine harvester is standing idle in the middle of harvest - how quickly is a spare part there?
Call or send the enquiry, and you have the fixed price in 30 minutes; depending on the pick-up location, the Sprinter usually sets off within a few hours from the manufacturer's or dealer's warehouse. On long routes two drivers run through, so that no rest period delays arrival. Weekend runs are a matter of course during the campaign.
Do you also transport a tractor with a mounted front loader?
Yes, provided the overall height and width allow it - with a front loader a tractor on the low-loader quickly exceeds 4 m, in which case dismantling or a permit-requiring run is necessary. Tell us the model and attachments; we check the dimensions and tell you which option is more economical.
What does ferrying a tractor or a harvesting machine cost?
We calculate machinery ferrying on a project basis on the low-loader; as a guide for palletised goods, an articulated truck runs at around 1.95 EUR/km (from 379 EUR) and a spare-parts Sprinter at around 1.10 EUR/km (from 89 EUR), each +/-15%. Oversize loads require a Section 29 permit, whose fee we itemise separately. Tell us the model, dimensions and lane - the fixed price is ready in 30 minutes.
Do you also deliver fertiliser and seed to farms without their own forklift?
Yes. For farms without unloading equipment we deploy vehicles with a truck-mounted forklift or tail lift, which set down pallets and big bags on paved farmyard ground too. Your dispatcher clarifies access and drop-off position in advance, so that the driver does not end up in front of a farm entrance that is too narrow.
Must ammonium-nitrate-based fertiliser be hauled as dangerous goods?
That depends on the product: certain ammonium-nitrate-based fertilisers fall under the ADR regulations (including Class 5.1), whereas many blended fertilisers do not. We check on the basis of the UN number and safety data sheet before dispatch whether ADR-compliant carriage is necessary, and carry it out with a trained driver.
