Transport for Food Industry
For food manufacturers, Logisticoo runs the entire chain: raw materials and ingredients into the plant, semi-finished products between production sites and finished goods to retail and large-scale caterers - hygienically flawless, temperature-controlled, documented. Food logistics is a matter of trust with a duty of proof: your HACCP concepts do not end at the factory gate but apply on the road too. That is why we provide clean, odour-neutral load spaces, separate incompatible products, maintain agreed temperatures from the deep-freeze range to fresh logistics, and deliver the temperature log with the consignment on request. Batch-pure transports and complete paperwork support your traceability. We think about production supply from the line: if a raw material is missing, a standstill looms - then we run express direct deliveries, at night too. Finished goods we bring to the retail central warehouses to the minute, with slot booking, pre-notification and pallet exchange. We handle best-before-critical goods accordingly: short transit times, no unnecessary handling, first-in-first-out in the tour planning. Your fixed-price quote is ready in 30 minutes, and your contact person stays the same. Whether dairy, bakery manufacturer or delicatessen producer: we adapt vehicle size and scheduling to your production volumes - from the daily refrigerated Sprinter to the articulated truck on a fixed weekly rhythm.
Vehicles & equipment
We deploy refrigerated box bodies with recording for fresh and deep-frozen goods, as well as clean curtain-side and box-body vehicles for the dry range and raw materials; multi-compartment vehicles carry two temperature zones on one tour.

Typical consignments in the food industry
We run the entire value chain. On the procurement side, raw materials and ingredients - flour and sugar in sacks or big bags, fats, flavourings and additives in packaged units and octabins. In between, semi-finished products that shuttle between production sites, such as dough pieces, intermediates or base masses, often requiring chilling or deep-freezing. On the sales side, finished goods to retail and large-scale caterers: palletised dry ranges, dairy products and fresh goods at 2-7 C, deep-frozen goods at -18 C, and best-before-critical batches with a short remaining shelf life. Also typical are returnable-container and load-carrier cycles (E2 crates, pallets) as well as batch-pure transports in which products must not mix. Depending on the customer, this ranges from the delicatessen producer's daily refrigerated Sprinter to the dairy's articulated truck on a fixed weekly rhythm.
Standards and rules in food transport
The basis is food hygiene under EU Regulation 852/2004 with the HACCP principle: clean, odour-neutral load spaces, separation of incompatible goods and complete traceability via batch and paperwork. Temperature-controlled goods we run in accordance with the principles of the ATP Agreement in suitable refrigerated and deep-freeze vehicles (FRC class for deep-freezing), with continuous recording and a set temperature that is fixed in writing before departure. We deliver the temperature log with the consignment - your proof for audits and complaints. For central-warehouse delivery, the retailer's delivery rules apply: booked time windows, pre-notification, pallet exchange. FIFO logic in the tour planning protects best-before-critical goods from unnecessary idle time. Load securing follows VDI 2700 with locking bars and anti-slip mats, especially with heavy, high pallet tiers.
How a food transport works at Logisticoo
- Enquiry with the goods, temperature requirement, quantity and recipient including their delivery rules.
- Fixed-price quote in 30 minutes with the right vehicle and temperature class.
- Pre-cooling: the vehicle is brought to set temperature before loading, and the load space is checked for cleanliness and freedom from odour.
- Batch-pure loading, incompatible goods separated, securing under VDI 2700.
- Transport with ongoing temperature recording; slot booking and pre-notification at central warehouses, and express direct delivery at night too in the event of production bottlenecks.
- Delivery within the window with pallet exchange, handover of the temperature log and return of empties. For recurring traffic, your personal dispatcher remains the fixed contact and knows every recipient's rules.
What does a food transport cost?
We name the price in advance as a fixed price; the rule-of-thumb figures per kilometre (+/-15%): a refrigerated Sprinter for small fresh quantities around 1.10 EUR/km (from 89 EUR), a 7.5 t truck around 1.45 EUR/km (from 169 EUR), a 12 t truck around 1.65 EUR/km (from 219 EUR), a refrigerated articulated truck around 1.95 EUR/km (from 379 EUR). Temperature control and recording are included; a deep-freeze surcharge may apply at -18 C. A fresh direct delivery Hamburg-Berlin (around 290 km) by refrigerated Sprinter thus comes to roughly 320-370 EUR, and a full load of dairy products Kempten-Cologne (around 600 km) by refrigerated articulated truck to roughly 990-1,350 EUR. Surcharges arise for night and weekend runs, a two-driver crew, and idle time beyond the booked window.

Frequently asked questions
How do you prove that the cold chain has been maintained?
The refrigeration unit records the load-space temperature over the entire run, and you receive the log with the consignment on request. The set temperature is fixed in writing before departure, and the driver checks it at collection and at rest stops. This gives you reliable proof for audits and customer complaints.
Do you also carry unpackaged raw materials or only palletised goods?
Our core business is packaged and palletised goods - sacks, big bags, octabins, cartons and packaged units. Loose bulk goods in a silo or tipper vehicle are not part of our standard programme; for these we arrange a suitable solution within project logistics where needed. For everything palletised: fixed price in 30 minutes.
What does a temperature-controlled food transport cost?
You receive a fixed price in 30 minutes. As a guide: a refrigerated Sprinter around 1.10 EUR/km (from 89 EUR), a refrigerated articulated truck around 1.95 EUR/km (from 379 EUR), each +/-15%, temperature control included. A fresh run Hamburg-Berlin (around 290 km) comes to roughly 320-370 EUR. For deep-freezing at -18 C a surcharge may apply, which we itemise transparently.
Do you run ATP-compliant with deep-freezing at -18 C?
Yes. For deep-frozen goods we deploy suitable refrigerated vehicles in accordance with the principles of the ATP Agreement, and in the FRC class for permanent deep-freezing. The vehicle is pre-cooled, the unit records the profile throughout, and you receive the temperature log with the consignment as proof for your quality assurance.
Can you transport batch-pure and with traceability?
Yes. We separate batches in the load space, avoid co-loading incompatible goods and keep the shipping documents complete, so that every consignment remains assignable to its batch. This supports your HACCP documentation and makes clear assignment easier in the event of a recall.
