Transport for Packaging Industry
For packaging manufacturers and their customers, Logisticoo carries what keeps every production line running but no one wants to store: corrugated board, folding cartons, films, labels, cups and preforms — voluminous, lightweight and just in time to the filling line. Packaging logistics is volume logistics in its purest form: an articulated truck loaded with empty packaging is full in space long before it is heavy. We therefore calculate in loading metres and pallet spaces, deploy jumbo and mega trailers, and assess double-deck loading where the goods can take it — which significantly lowers the cost per unit. Fillers and packers work with minimal packaging stock; if the replenishment stops, the line stops. Our scheduled traffic delivers into fixed time windows, and when it's urgent, the express direct run travels at night too. We transport packaging with food contact in clean, dry, odour-neutral load spaces so that your hygiene chain stays closed. Print-fresh displays and laminated goods are secured free of pressure marks. From the label carton in a Sprinter van to the full load of corrugated board: fixed price within 30 minutes, in 147 German cities and 55 countries.
Vehicles & equipment
We deploy jumbo and mega trailers with up to 100 m³ of load space plus box vehicles for moisture-sensitive goods; double-deck beams, blocking bars and light lashing-down secure the pressure-sensitive packaging materials without deformation.
Typical requirements
- Volume-optimised loading in jumbo and mega trailers, calculation in loading metres
- Just-in-time supply of filling and packaging lines within fixed time windows
- Express replenishment when a line stoppage threatens
- Clean, dry, odour-neutral load spaces for food-contact packaging
- Securing laminated goods and displays free of pressure marks
- Double-deck loading to reduce the cost per unit

Typical shipments from the packaging industry
Packaging logistics is volume logistics: we carry lightweight, bulky packaging materials that fill the load space before the payload is reached. Typical are corrugated board and corrugated blanks, folding cartons and cardboard boxes, displays and POS stands, films and stretch film on rolls, labels and label rolls, as well as plastic packaging such as cups, trays, buckets, canisters and PET preforms. Add to this fill and cushioning material, strapping band and adhesive tapes. A large share goes just in time straight to the filling and packaging line, where minimal stock is held. Packaging with food contact imposes additional hygiene requirements. From a single label carton in a Sprinter van to a full load of corrugated board in the jumbo, the vehicle adapts to the quantity — always with an eye to the fact that every cubic metre of load space counts, because the price depends on volume, not weight.
Standards and regulations in packaging transport
The first requirement is the careful, deformation-free securing of pressure-sensitive packaging materials in accordance with VDI 2700 ff. and EN 12195: light lashing-down, blocking bars and partitions rather than tight straps, so that laminated displays and corrugated board are not crushed; with double-deck loading, double-deck beams secure the upper layer. The second requirement is hygiene for packaging with food contact: this is subject to good manufacturing practice under EU Regulation 2023/2006 (GMP for food-contact materials); for this we provide clean, dry and odour-neutral load spaces and rule out co-loading with contaminating goods. Moisture-sensitive goods travel in a closed box. For deliveries to filling lines, the consignee's time-window and pre-advice rules apply, which we translate into scheduled traffic.
How a packaging transport works at Logisticoo
- Enquiry with goods, quantity in pallets/loading metres or cubic metres, consignee and frequency (scheduled or one-off).
- Fixed-price quote within 30 minutes with a volume-optimised vehicle class (jumbo/mega, double-deck if applicable).
- Check of double-deck capability based on the load pattern and pallet weight, plus the hygiene requirement for food contact.
- Deformation-free loading with light securing, moisture-sensitive goods in the box.
- Delivery into the fixed time window of the filling or packaging line; if a line stoppage threatens, the express direct run travels at night too.
- Delivery with pre-advice; we take empty pallets and load carriers back in the loop. We set up scheduled traffic with fixed departure days and an established driving crew for regular replenishment; the express direct run remains bookable at any time as a supplement.
What does a packaging transport cost?
You always receive a fixed price up front; the rule-of-thumb rates per kilometre (±15%): Sprinter van for labels and small quantities around €1.10/km (from €89), 7.5 t truck around €1.45/km (from €169), 12 t truck around €1.65/km (from €219), jumbo or mega articulated truck for volume goods around €1.95/km (from €379). Because packaging materials are volume goods rather than weight goods, the occupied load space determines the price — jumbo capacity and double-deck loading significantly lower the cost per pallet. A full load of corrugated board from Frankfurt to Stuttgart (around 210 km) with the jumbo therefore comes to roughly €379–470 (minimum price applies), while a label direct run by Sprinter van over 250 km is around €240–320. Surcharges apply for express in the event of a line stoppage, night and weekend runs, and time-window commitments.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the price per pallet for packaging goods often higher than expected?
Because the vehicle is full in space long before the payload is reached — you pay for the occupied load space, not the weight. This is exactly where we come in: jumbo trailers with more volume and, where the goods are stable enough, double-deck loading spread the vehicle cost over more units and thus noticeably lower the price per pallet.
Can you supply our filling line to fixed schedules?
Yes, scheduled traffic is the most economical model for packaging replenishment: fixed departure days, fixed time windows at your dock, an established driving crew. We align the frequency with your production planning and adjust it during seasonal peaks. For unplanned bottlenecks, the express direct run remains bookable at any time as a supplement.
