Depending on the origin and deadline, our dispatchers decide whether the overland route via Montenegro or North Macedonia or the RoRo ferry to Durrës is more economical, and keep the T1 or TIR documents in order so that no waiting time builds up at any border. Routes & corridors

The overland route runs via the A8/A10 to Austria and Slovenia, then on through Croatia and Montenegro along the Adriatic to Shkodra, or alternatively via Serbia and North Macedonia (Qafë Thana) to Tirana. For trailers without time pressure, the RoRo ferries Bari or Ancona–Durrës are a proven alternative.

Customs clearance

Albania is not an EU member: the export is declared in the EU, transit runs under T1 or a TIR carnet to the Albanian border, where import clearance follows. Thanks to the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU, an EUR.1 certificate or statement of origin secures preferential (usually zero) duty rates for goods of EU origin.
