Freight forwarder Malta: transport from Germany to Malta & back

Logisticoo organises transports from Germany to Malta and back as a seamless chain of Italian overland leg and RoRo ferry — entirely within the EU single market, without customs formalities, with a fixed price in 30 minutes. The island state imports almost everything it consumes: machinery and spare parts, building materials, furniture, foodstuffs and consumer goods arrive predominantly by trailer via Sicily and the Italian RoRo ports; on the return leg we carry, among other things, electronic components and pharmaceutical products from Malta's manufacturing plants. The rhythm is set by the ferry schedules — Grimaldi and others serve Valletta several times a week from Salerno, Catania and Genoa. Our dispatchers plan backwards from the ferry slot: loading in Germany, overland leg through Italy, check-in at the port, delivery on Malta via our local partner network. Unaccompanied trailers lower costs, accompanied vehicles secure tight deadlines; for urgent spare parts we combine air freight to Luqa. One personal dispatcher keeps the entire chain in one hand — and the price where it was promised. Frequently requested add-on services include export packing and transhipment in the Italian port, temperature-controlled trailers for foodstuffs, and island delivery to Gozo via the local ferry.

Routes & corridors

The standard route runs by truck through Italy (Brenner, A1 Milan–Rome–Naples) to the ports of Salerno, Catania or Genoa, and from there by RoRo ferry (including Grimaldi) to Valletta. Trailers travel either accompanied or unaccompanied; urgent small shipments are covered by air freight to Luqa.

Documents & processing

Malta is an EU member — despite the ferry leg, no customs formalities apply; the carriage remains intra-Community with an invoice and CMR. The only customs-relevant point is the Marsaxlokk Freeport as a transhipment hub for third-country sea freight; pure EU trailer traffic bypasses it.
